Abstract
1410566 Gas fired water heaters JUNKERS & CO GmbH 6 April 1973 [10 April 1972] 16523/73 Heading F4A [Also in Division G3] In a gas-fired water heater a heat exchanger 33 is provided for heating service water, a temperature selector 53, 54 is coupled to a regulating throttle 52 in the flow path of the service water and to a potentiometer 62 for controlling the delivery temperature of the service water, the delivery temperature of the water being sensed by a temperature sensitive resistor 61 such that an input signal is supplied to a pulse generator 55 which supplies pulses to act on a control valve 28 monitoring fuel feed to a burner 10 supplying heat to a heat exchanger 11. The control valve 28 monitors the flow in a control line 27 which interconnects two points at different static pressures in the flow path of the water between a high-pressure chamber 17 and a low-pressure chamber 18 of a diaphragm operated hydraulic pressure switch 15 acting on a gas safety valve 13. The hot water supply system is combined with a central heating system such that service water flows from a cold water inlet line 38 to a service hot water delivery tap 43 by way of an hydraulic switch 39 and a line 40 through a heat exchanger 33. When drawing off service water, the hydraulic switch 39 actuates contacts 48 to control a motor operated 3-way valve 29 and circulate water through the service water heater 33, at the same time shutting off the supply of water through the branch line 30 leading to heating elements 31 of a central heating system.
