Abstract
1410504 Rotary positive-displacement engines H SABET 25 Sept 1972 [25 Sept 1971] 44279/72 Heading F1F An I.C. engine is identical to that described in Specification 1343492 saving that hollow pistons 1 are united with an annular end-wall 2, have another annular end-wall (not shown) fixed to their flat side faces by screws engaging with some of bores 1' of which the remainder serve as coolant passages, and have grooves 3, 4 through which working chambers 5, 6 between these pistons and the co-operating pistons 11 can communicate with intake and exhaust ports 13, 14 in the casing. Sealing strips 7, 10 are disposed as shown, the strips 10 abutting a tubular shaft 9. To facilitate a two-stroke mode of operation each intake port may be lengthened in the circumferential direction and each exhaust port divided into two ports 16, 17, Fig.5, each of which ports may be connected to a separate exhaust system.
