Abstract

1410274 Suspended scaffolding GOTAVERKEN AB 4 April 1973 [19 April 1972] 16069/73 Heading E1S A suspended scaffolding, e.g. for working on ships' hulls, comprises a plurality of superimposed, interconnected parallelepipedic frame units 11, 12a, 12b of which the upper one has means 14 at its upper end, and the lower one has means 16 at its lower end, for attaching to a ships' hull 10, each frame unit comprising two longitudinal side frames pivotally connected to a base member and a length-adjustable diagonal brace 21 fitted in a plane perpendicular to the sides of the unit for adjusting the angle between the side frames and base, whereby the scaffolding may conform to the shape of the hull. A device 16 may be provided for drawing the lower frame unit close to the hull, and comprises a traction device operating on a wire connected to a fitting 15 secured to the hull, the frame unit then being held in position by a chain 16a. Each frame unit may have two superimposed pivotably connected platforms 17a, 17b and a ladder, the platforms having openings around the ladders for access.
