1409825 Puffing tobacco BAT CIGARETTEN - FABRIKEN GmbH 28 June 1973 30872/73 Addition to 1381203 Heading A2C The process of the Parent Specification 1381203 in which tobacco with a moisture content greater than or equal to 19% is subjected to a reduction in pressure of at least 20% of the initial pressure with a pressure change velocity of at least 2% of the instantaneous pressure per second, such that bursting or puffing out of the tobacco cells is avoided, at a temperature not exceeding the steam temperature of the water contained in the tobacco and subsequently the condition of the tobacco is fixed by drying to a moisture content of less than 20% is modified in that the moisture content of the tobacco is at least 15%, the reduction in pressure is at least 10% of the initial pressure and the pressure change velocity is at least 0.4% of the instantaneous pressure per second.
