Abstract
1408685 Electromagnets SIEMENS AG 4 Dec 1973 [4 Dec 1972] 56207/73 Heading H1P [Also in Division F2] An electromagnet, e.g. for a magnetic brake comprises a magnet body 1 carrying a D.C. winding 2 attracting a brake disc with a lining 4 carried by annular armature 5, which is made up of a stack of ferromagnetic laminations perpendicular to the axis of the magnet and the direction of displacement (Fig. 1). In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown) the magnet body comprises concentric iron rings supporting the winding conjoined by a stack of ferromagnetic laminations perpendicular to the axis and supported by an iron backplate.
