Abstract

1408516 Cassette containers; labels IDN INVENTIONS and DEVELOPMENT OF NOVELTIES AG 5 Sept 1973 [6 Sept 1972] 41779/73 Headings B8P and B8F A cassette container is designed so that the cassette can be inserted and removed therefrom with one hand. The cassette comprises a drawer 2 and a case 1 both of which may be injection moulded. When a catch 19 is released by finger pressure a spring 3 urges the drawer carrying the cassette to the open position where it is checked by pins 15 on the drawer, moving in slots 14 in the case. A guide 11 engages ridges 13 to locate the drawer in the case. The cassette is located on tabs 8 and inclined surfaces 17 on the end wall of the drawer incline the cassette from the open drawer to facilitate its removal. The sides of the drawer are cut away so that the cassette can be easily In modifications, the spring could be a cylindrical coil spring, a leaf spring or a block of foam plastics. The catch 19 could be arranged to engage one of the narrow side walls of the case. The cases can have dovetail shaped projections and slots on their outer surface, Fig. 22, so that a number of cases can be joined side-byside or in tiers. A projection 46 engages in the slots 14 in the adjacent case to lock the cases together. Alternatively, the cases can be moulded together side-by-side, or one on another, or back-to-back. The cases can be engaged in a mounting bracket 60 Fig. 28 by means of the dovetail projections and slots, the bracket being screwed to a supporting surface. Similarly, a handle can be slid on to the dovetail formations so that a number of interengaged cases can be carried as a unit. Labels.-The drawer carries a label (Fig. 16, not shown) of stiff paper, cardboard or a plastics sheet and may have indicia on both sides. Alternatively the end of the label may be bent up and be read through a transparent rear wall. The label engages beneath a projection (34) on the drawer front and beneath projections (39) on the tabs 8 that locate the cassette in the drawer 2.
