Abstract

1407282 Rotary positive-displacement machines DANFOSS AS 23 Oct 1972 [10 Nov 1971] 48689/72 Heading F1F A gerotor type machine comprises an externallytoothed wheel 12 which rotates about its own axis M 1 and simultaneously orbits around the axis M 2 of an internally-toothed ring 4, and valve means including a set of circumferentially equispaced V-notches 23 in the wheel 12 which each register with each successive inlet and outlet openings 17, 21 in a circumferential set thereof fixed relative to ring 4, the registering of each notch 23 with each successive opening 17, 21 being solely by virtue of the rotational movement of the wheel about its own axis, and the notches 23 and openings 17, 21 being so dimensioned that such registering is unaffected by the orbital movement of the wheel about the ring axis M 2 . Each notch 23 increases in depth towards the circumference of the wheel 4. The width of each notch 23 is sufficient at the outer periphery of wheel 4 to intercommunicate adjacent working chambers when a trough of wheel 12 engages a roller tooth 9 of ring 4.
