Abstract

1407044 Spray-producers STANADYNEInc 5 Sept 1972 41190/72 Heading B2F A spray head for producing a pulsating flow of liquid comprises a housing 12, a cover plate or rose 14 having elongated liquid outlet openings not shown, and a plate 18 having a tapered edge and mounted for oscillatory motion. The outlet openings are rectangular slots arranged in a circle and an annular gap 37 is provided between the plate 14 and the housing 12. As shown water from an inlet 13 causes the plate 18 which has holes 24 and a stud 20. to oscillate about a post 34, complete rotation of the plate being prevented by a stud 32 engaging a hole 22. In a modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), the plate (38) is imperforate and its edge is tapered in the opposite direction to that of the plate 18. In Fig. 8, (not shown), the edge of the plate is bevelled and has a vertical slot engaged by a rib (54) on the inside of the housing, to prevent complete rotation of the plate.
