Abstract

1407035 Mixing apparatus CALEDONIAN MINING CO Ltd 13 July 1973 [22 July 1972 26 Sept 1972 29 Sept 1972 5 Dec 1972 (2)] 34391/72 44369/72 45003/72 56151/72 and 56152/72 Heading B1C Mixing apparatus for mixing a plurality of materials e.g. cement and sand comprises screw conveyors 10, 22 for feeding the respective materials from hoppers 2, 4 to a common inlet 14, 16 to a screw mixing conveyor 18, a further hopper 6 for feeding fibrous material from a vibratory conveyor 26 to a second inlet 42 of the mixing conveyor, the hopper 6 having a screen 34 therein the screen or the hopper being vibratable by a reciprocating action to supply a controlled flow of fibrous material to the other materials in the mixing conveyor and which are subsequently discharged from the mixing conveyor at outlet 24. The materials may be mixed dry in which case the materials are passed from outlet 24 to a rotary feed device 54 which transfers the mixed materials to a chamber 62 from which it is blown by air pressure to a nozzle (not shown) where water is added and the mixture is sprayed on to a surface to be concreted. Alternatively, water may be added to the materials in the mixing conveyor and the resultant wet mixture is collected at the discharge outlet 24.
