Abstract

1404397 Clearing drafting rollers B GORT 6 April 1973 [11 April 1972] 16601/73 Heading D1D A clearing system for the rollers of a drawing frame comprises a carrier means 1 for the rollers 4, 12, an endless clearing belt 5 which passes through the nip of at least one pair 4/14 of rollers of the drafting system and merely contacts the other rollers 12 that are to be cleared, said belt being tensioned by means 11 or 11' on a holding means 3 or 11" and guide means 10 also being provided. The holding means 3 is pivoted to an adjustable saddle member 2. The guides 10 and tensioning roller 11 are slidable on arm 3. The belt 5 may be kept in contact with the rollers by gravity or by a spring. The belt 5 is suitably made of e.g. leather, artificial leather, plastics, or rubber. This clearing system may be adapted for bottom drafting rollers.
