Abstract

1402556 Upholstered seats YOUNGFLEX SA 24 July 1972 [5 Aug 1971 8 Feb 1972] 36877/71 and 5917/72 Heading A4M A seat includes a base frame 12, a generally flat padding support 13 extending across the base frame 12 and secured along one or two opposite sides by a row of tension springs 16, and an edge frame 17 mounted above the base frame 12 on a plurality of generally V-shaped springs 18, 19 anchored to the base frame 12 and each having an arm 18A extending upwardly and outwardly from a side edge region of the padding support 13 and secured at their upper ends to the edge frame 17. The padding support 13 comprises wires 15 extending through twisted paper cards 14 and anchored at their ends to paper cards 14A with a wire case. The spring 18 may be generally U-shaped in plan and includes a slot 30 in which the attachment region of spring 16 and support 13 may be displaced. Other forms of V-spring are described. In another embodiment, Fig.11 (not shown), laterally disposed padding supports (110) insulate padding from the V-springs.
