Abstract
1401767 Pneumatic conveyers HENRY SIMON Ltd 29 Nov 1972 [18 Dec 1971] 58919/71 Heading B8A [Also in Division F1] A compressed air storage tank, fed by a compressor supplies some of a plurality of pneumatic conveying lines, the capacity of the compressor not being sufficient to supply all the lines simultaneously. The system is however controlled such that, once the compressor is working to full capacity, no further lines may be opened until at least one of the lines in use is relieved. In the figure, compressor 10 supplies tank 12 which in turn supplies up to, e.g. four of lines 16. Pressure sensing device 19 maintains a constant pressure in tank 12 venting to atmosphere through valve 15 when necessary. Pressure sensing device 20 indicates to control 21 when the compressor is at full capacity, to prevent a further one of valves 17 from opening until the compression has spare capacity to supply the respective line.
