Abstract

1401446 Vibrating hopper FRED S CARVER Inc 21 June 1972 29169/72 Heading B8S Granulated or pulverulent material is fed by imposing a vibration comprising at least two different non-harmonic frequencies on the material in order to fluidize the material. In the figure, hopper 22 is mounted on supporting plate 23 which is vibrated by the rotation of two eccentrically weighted shafts 55, (56) mounted on plate 23 and rotated at different frequencies by a double grooved pulley with belt grooves of different pitch diameters, the pulley driven by motor 32 through a disengageable clutch 46. The hopper may be provided with divider means to separate the material into two or more streams. The apparatus may be used to fill godets with cosmetic powder.
