Abstract
1400392 Soldering A A BLANCO 18 Sept 1972 [18 June 1971] 28674/71 Heading B3R [Also in Division F4] A heat transfer panel comprises a steel sheet which has been surface coated with a layer of zinc, lead or tin or with an alloy of these metals, and a plurality of similarly coated steel tubes or copper or copper alloy tubes, said tubes being secured to the coated steel sheet by means of a tin and/or lead based solder. The tubes, which may have an oval, D-, or square cross-section, extend between headers. The panel may be used as a hot water radiator. Alternatively it may be employed as the absorption plate of a flat plate type solar water heater with cold water circulating through the tubes. The steel sheet may be formed with channels into which the tubes fit and are soldered.
