Abstract
1399691 Carrying liquefied gases BRIDGESTONE LIQUEFIED GAS CO Ltd 2 April 1973 [21 April 1972] 15744/73 Heading B7A [Also in Division F4] A liquefied gas tanker ship has a rigid hull which contains a membranous lower tank portion 1 surrounded by heat insulating material 8. The ship has an aperture in the deck 9 through which an insulated rigid upper tank portion 2 projects. The upper tank portion is sufficiently large to provide a buffer space for wave motion in the liquefied gas when the tank is filled and is so connected to the deck as to allow for relative expansion and contraction.
