Abstract
1397634 Twin-hulled pusher tug CATUG CORP 29 June 1972 [29 June 1971] 30572/72 Headings B7A and B7V A sea-going vessel comprises a tug T having a pair of hulls 10 laterally spaced from one another and connected by a horizontal shelf member 11, and a barge unit 13 for carrying cargo. The barge is releasably fixed to the tug by a horizontal projection member 13 forming part of the barge and extending rearwardly from its aft end between the hulls of the tug. Releasable wedges 20 between the tug and the barge prevent relative transverse or vertical movement between them and releasable locking assembly 14, 15, 16 locks the tug and barge to one another to prevent relative longitudinal movement between them. In the embodiment shown the shelf and projection members have a complementary engaging arrangement in the form of a recessed shoulder portion 12 at the aft end of the under-surface of the shelf member in tight releasable engagement with a notch portion at the aft end of the projection member.
