1297510 Tankers; bulkheads MITSUBISHI JUKOGYO KK 11 Dec 1970 [12 Dec 1969] 59149/70 Headings B7A and B7S The hull of a large water-borne vessel e.g. an oil tanker of greater than 200,000 dead weight tons (D.W.T.) and having a breadth to depth ratio (B/D) of 2.5 or more is constructed with four or more longitudinal bulkheads (Fig. 3A). The hatched area of Fig. 6 bounded by curve P shows the range of hulls for which the provision of four or more such bulkheads affords a saving in the weight of the hull.
