Abstract
1395467 Electrostatic charging device SPERRY RAND CORP 9 July 1973 [26 Sept 1972] 32523/73 Heading G2H [Also in Division H1] The elongated wire electrode 18 of a corona charging device 10 is partially surrounded by an elongated shield 20 formed from a material having a moderate resistivity i.e. of the order of 10<SP>3</SP> to 10<SP>9</SP> ohm-cm. The resistivity of the shield should be less than that of the dark resistivity of the photo-conductive surface 14 to be charged by the device 10.
