Abstract

1394740 Cigarette packets G GERO A GERO A J DISTEFANO and D W DISTEFANO 7 June 1972 [7 June 1971] 26533/72 Addition to 1250793 Heading B8P In a cigarette carton of the main invention a finger hole 86a is provided to facilitate pivoting of the inner portion out of the outer portion and an additional panel 184a may be provided so that all exterior surfaces of the carton can carry printed matter. The hole 86a may be formed by a line of perforations 89a and be secured to the inner portion by the adhesive on a rear panel 122a or the finger hole may be in the form of a U-shaped cut-out (Figs. 23, 24, not shown) the top of which remains hinged to the rear wall of the outer portion. The additional panel 184a is provided as an extension of the front panel 172a and is congruent therewith. Panel 184a completely overlies panel 172a when the carton is formed. In another embodiment, Figs. 42, 44, the carton is formed from a two-part blank, part 310 forming the inner portion and part 311 forming the outer portion. In this embodiment the connection between the two parts is formed by a hinge tab 340. Fig. 44, cut from the rear wall of the outer part.
