Abstract
139,469. Wegmann, J. Feb. 22, 1919, [Convention date]. Holders. - A holder comprises an insulating bayonet socket a and an insulating-body a<7> having recesses to receive the heads e of the plungercases a<4> and laterally extended terminals c to which the cases are screwed; each terminal has a laterally disposed clamping screw for the lead wires. The conductors are led to the terminals by two holes (not shown). The body a' rests in a recess a<6> in the socket and has grooves engaging projections on the socket to prevent turning. An insulating-dome h is secured by a union ring i. In a modification, the socket and terminal carrying block are in one piece, and the terminals are secured to the top of the plungercases, the bottoms of the cases having external countersunk flanges and internal flanges to retain the plungers. The body a<7> may be of more highly insulating material than the socket; the latter may be of wood, ebonite, porcelain, terra-cotta, glass, clematite, preolite, stabilite, cornite, micanite, or galalithe.
