Abstract

1394036 Crimping fibres and yarns AKADEMIE DER WISSENSCHAFTEN DER DDR 28 June 1973 [28 June 1972] 30729/73 Heading D1F In the production of synthetic e.g. nylon 6, filaments textured by a false-twist crimping process, the extruded filaments are stretched in at least two stages. The first stage or the first and subsequent stages (but excluding the final stage) is effected in a conventional stretching device and the final stage is effected separately in the texturing (falsetwisting) zone. The filaments are stretched in the operations preceding the final stage by 90-97% of the value normally necessary to produce the required strength and elongation values for the filaments. The filaments may be fed to the texturing zone with a changed entry rate and/or removed therefrom with a changed output rate so that the ratio therebetween ensures a required final titre of the filaments.
