1391324 Basic dyestuffs HOECHST AG 10 May 1972 [10 May 1971] 21879/72 Heading C4P The invention comprises dyestuffs of the general formula wherein X is oxygen or sulphur, Q is (1) an alkyl, aralkyl, aryl or heterocyclic radical sub- stituted by a radical -#N(R 1 )(R 2 )(R 3 ) wherein R 1 and R 2 are H or optionally substituted alkyl, aralkyl, or cycloalkyl and R 3 is H or an optionally substituted alkyl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl, alkoxy, or amino radical or (II) a saturated or unsaturated optionally substituted heterocyclic ring or ring system containing a tetravalent N atom, and bonded to the N atom in the first formula above either directly or via an alkylene group, with the proviso that the tretravalent N atom is not directly bonded to the N atom in the first formula above; R 4 , R 5 , R 6 and R 7 are H or a non-ionic radical and A- is an anion. Substituents R 4 -R 7 may be halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, alkoxycarbonyl, carboxy, alkylsulphonyl, carbamoyl, sulphamoyl, amino, trifluoromethyl, acyl or acylamino. They are prepared by reacting a dyestuff of the general formula wherein R 4 , R 5 , R 6 , R 7 and X are as above and Q<SP>1</SP> is a radical containing a primary, secondary or tertiary amino group with an inorganic or organic acid or a quaternizing agent. The dyes dye tannined cellulose fibres, silk, leather, acid modified p.a.c. polyvinylidene cyanide, polyesters or polyamides.
