Abstract

139,014. Stewart, J. C. March 8, 1919. Ploughs, having two or more shares and adapted to be drawn by horse or mechanical power, are provided with special means for adjusting the width of work. The furrow wheel B is mounted so that the part in contact with the ground may be adjusted laterally while the plough is in operation, by turning the wheel about an axis parallel to the furrow and above the axis of the wheel. The wheel standard 1 is adjustably mounted in a pivoted block 2 and is adjusted angularly about the horizontal pivot axis by means of a lever 6 and link 5. The front plough A is carried by a bar 12 adjustably mounted on transverse bars 10, 11. The frame comprises a longitudinal landside member 7, a transverse front member 8, and a furrow-side member 9 which is bent at the rear and connected to the member 7, as shown. These members may be integral with one another.
