Abstract
1389881 Discharging refined molten glass OWENS-ILLINOIS Inc 25 Aug 1972 [27 Aug 1971] 39635/72 Heading C1M In a method of refining molten glass by rotating a mass of unrefined glass, the refined glass is discharged in a direction counter to the direction of rotation of the mass, thereby retarding the velocity of the discharged glass. The mass of glass is rotated in a container 11 provided with two discharge tubes 16 curved or angled so that their discharge outlets 17 are directed counter to the direction of rotation of the container 11, the glass being discharged into a stationery container 10.
