Abstract
1387764 Roller and endless conveyers MORGAN CONSTRUCTION CO 30 April 1973 [1 May 1972] 20432/73 Heading B8A Rolled sections A 1 , A 2 ... (Fig. 4) are fed laterally and successively towards a path P along which they are fed to a further processing stage by being gripped between drive rollers 92a, 92b (Figs. 1 and 2). The rods are fed laterally by conveyer chains 12, and then by conical rollers 14, 14, 14, and obliquely positioned rollers 16, 16, 16. The leading section is guided by its right hand end engaging and sliding along an adjustably positioned first stop 36. Until the path P is clear of a preceding section, the leading section is arrested by a stop 38, and a stop 42 holds the section from proceeding in a direction parallel to the path P. When the preceding section has cleared the machine the stop 38 descends clear of the table, and the section is pushed on to path P by the action of a pusher 44. The sections are gripped between rolls 92a, 92b, by the action of a piston and cylinder device 88 (Fig. 3). The position of the rolls may be adjusted by the action of a jack 58 which moves the conveyer frame on bearers 56. A jack 70 pivots the frame about a fulcrum 64.
