Abstract

1387294 Opening device for open end spinning ZINSER - TEXTILMASCHINEN GmbH 8 June 1972 [21 June 1971] 26853/72 Heading D1N An opening device for an open-end spinning machine comprises a toothed opening roller 10 and a contra-rotating feed roller 11. The distance between the opening roller and feed roller is such that opening of the sliver is effected whilst the sliver is still in contact with the feed roller 11, the shortest distance between the feed roller and the opening roller being less than 0.5 mm. Preferably a thrust roller 12 and a guide 13 are arranged adjacent the feed roller. The feed roller can be provided with surface undulations in a circular or helical arrangement. The guide 13 can have a stripper 32 for cleaning fibres from the thrust roller 12. Dirt from the fibres is separated via duct 18.
