Abstract
138,728. Benjamin Electric, Ltd., and Campbell, G. March 5, 1919. Holders.-An adapter, Fig. 2, comprises a holder a having one terminal connected to a spring strip a<2>, a holder b having one terminal connected to a spring strip b<2>, and an insulated means for connecting the two strips; the terminals of the holder bare connected by strips 2, 3 to the plug contacts 1<b>, 1<c> and the second terminal of the holder a to the terminal 1<b>. The holder b is thus always in circuit, while the holder a may be cut out. A plug connexion to an iron or other heating-apparatus may be inserted in the holder b. The adapter may comprise more than two holders. The switch comprises a spring- pressed push-rod c of fibre or other insulating- material carrying a conical contact sleeve c', Fig. 3, having a reduced part c' adapted to be retained in position by the strips a<2>, b<2>. A collar c<5> limits the motion when the circuit is broken. A tumbler switch may be used instead of that described.
