Abstract
1379997 Bridge crane for negotiating corners ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AB 2 May 1972 [3 May 1971] 20339/72 Heading B8B A container crane 6 comprises a quayside portal 10 with fixed legs and a landside portal 15 with legs having swinging lower parts 15b connected to upper parts 15a by horizontal pivots 16 parallel to the direction of movement of the leg parts 15a. The lower parts 15b are interinterconnected by a horizontal beam 17 of little torsional stiffness pivoted at the lower parts 15b by vertical pivots 18 or by springs (not shown). The portals 10, 15 are carried by a number of bogies 20 pivotally mounted in balance arms 21 themselves pivotally mounted in balance arms 22. The balance arms 22 are respectively pivotally mounted on the legs of the portals 10, 15. This arrangement enables the crane 6 to travel along the rail track 5 including the corners 26.
