Abstract

137,883. Dunbar, D. Dec. 30, 1918. Wall ties; wall sockets.-A holdfast for securing wooden straps, laths, &c. to brickwork, acting also as a tie for double walls, consists of a metal channel or like part A, Figs. 1 and 7, outside the wall face, and am arm B embedded in the wall thickness and with the end B<1> like the channel A, or bent over the face of the wall; or it may be split and embedded in the brickwork. A vertical web C is formed on the arm B and is placed in the joints or abuts on the wall face. The channel A may be inverted and the arm B partly horizontal and partly vertical, as shown in Fig. 4. The outer limb of the channel A may be omitted and the wooden strap be secured to the inner limb by bolts, screws, &c.
