Abstract
1378760 Roller conveyers FRIEDRICH KOCKS 9 Dec 1971 [9 Dec 1970] 57206/71 Heading B8A [Also in Division B3] Apparatus for straightening and cooling elongated round articles such as bars or tubes 2 comprises rollers 3 which may be driven, and pivotable arms 8 which may advance or prevent advancement of the articles 2. Some of the rollers 3 may comprise hollow cylinders filled with a cooling fluid. The arms 8 may be hydraulically or pneumatically actuated and are carried on mounts 11 adjustable along the length of guides 10. The guides may be adjusted along transverse rails 13. In a modification, Fig. 3, groups of rollers are connected by links 18, pairs of groups being vertically movable by supports 14 to provide adjustable troughing sections 17 for forming batches of the articles. The batches are then advanced by the arms 8 after the pairs of roller groups have been raised to the level of the other rollers 3. In Fig. 5, some of the rollers are replaced by vertically movable supports 19, 20.
