Abstract

1378635 Buttons HANDY BUTTON MACHINE CO 21 Dec 1972 [17 Feb 1972] 59269/72 Heading A3H [Also in Division A4] A tufting button includes a collet 1 with a stern 45 extending from a base 5, the stern having a recess 61 to receive a tufting loop 59 after the latter has passed through a first snap lock defined by a gap 67 formed between a resilient tap 63 and a hook portion 51 of the stern and through a second snap lock defined by a gap 57 formed between the stern and the end 53 of the hook portion 51. The base 5 has a pheripheral wall defining a series of annular steps 13-17. A button shell 31 is fitted over the base 5 and a cover 37 is clinched between the skirt 35 of the shell 31 and the peripheral wall of the base 5.
