Abstract

1377286 Dry therapeutic bath H MATSUI 29 Feb 1972 9347/72 Heading A5B A composition which is suitable for use as a dry therapeutic bath and which is self-heating by fermentation comprises (a) 10-90 weight % of used coffee grounds from which the coffee essence has been extracted with water and (b) 10-90 weight % of a second vegetable constituent selected from defatted vegetables, bagasse, corn core, wood chips, pineapple stalk and aqueous extraction residues of vegetable seeds, the composition being such as ferments spontaneously when its water content is 30-50% and its pH is 4-6. The defatted vegetable may be defatted rice bran, cotton seed or soyabean. A yeast, e.g. Saccharomyces ellipsoidens, may be added to the bath. In use, the temperature of the bath may be maintained by adding further coffee grounds and vegetable material.
