Abstract

137,682. Smith, C. C. March 24, 1919. Latches, sliding. - A latch-bolt E shot by the weight of the handle (not shown) is mounted on a plate F secured to the door, and is guided thereon by a projection B<1> on a disk B<2> which engages a slot E<2> in the bolt. The disk B<2> is formed with, or is secured to, the knob B, and has a pin B<1> engaging a slot E<3> in the bolt for operating the same. A duplicate slot E<2> is provided to enable the latch to be reversed. The projection B' may be on the spindle D instead of on the disk B<2>.
