Abstract
1375853 Digital computers ENGLISH NUMBERING MACHINES Ltd 12 July 1972 [29 Sept 1971] 45289/71 Heading G4A A digital computer feeds data from a memory 30 to a selected peripheral line via accumulator 18, e.g. a shift register, the line being selected by a two part address signal. A first part is stored in memory address register 32 and enables peripheral address decoder 34 which decodes the second address part in buffer 28 to select the line. The second part is stored in a location of core memory 30 designated by the first part, preferably a predetermined location. The computer operates under instructions from read only memory 12 and has a serial adder/subtractor 16, the peripheral devices can be printers, card punches, control buttons 24 or control lamps 26, and decoder 34 comprises integrated circuit high and low order parts (Fig. 2, not shown).
