Abstract

1375337 Fasteners FURUYA KOGYO KG 31 July 1973 [16 Aug 1972] 36426/73 Heading E2B A fastener formed of plastics material comprises a male member M having a cylindrical skirt 9 on the outer surface of which is an annular bead 8, and a femal member F defining a generally cylindrical cavity adapted to receive the skirt 9 entered in an open end of the cavity, the latter having on the inner surface thereof and towards the said end an annular groove 15 adapted to receive the bead 8 and, spaced inwardly from the groove, an annular recess 18. The arrangement is such that on entering the member M into the member F the bead snaps into the groove to secure the fastener in a first fastening position and on applying additional pressure to the member M the bead passes from the groove and into the recess to secure the fastener in a second fastening position. As shown, the skirt 9 has circumferentially spaced slots 10 and has a chamfered end on which the bead 8 is disposed; the member M includes a tag 4 to facilitate removal of the member from the member F.
