Abstract
1374255 Mobile folding tower cranes GENERAL CRANE INDUSTRIES Ltd 3 May 1972 [6 May 1971] 20096/72 Divided out of 1374253 Heading B8B A mobile tower crane comprises a telescopic tower 14 with an upper section 26 sliding in a lower section 25 and is mounted on a vehicle with steerable crawler tracks 11. In the transport position shown the tower 14 is nearly horizontal, but with the tops of the sections 25, 26 below their bases. This enables the relatively longer, upper section 26 to be slid partially through the base of the section 25 to extend over the driver's cab 28, thus reducing the necessary, overall length of the vehicle.
