Abstract

1372105 Valves CONCENTRIC CONTROLS Ltd 11 Dec 1972 [28 Dec 1971] 60237/71 Heading F2V A valve assembly for connecting a gas supply from inlet 11 to an outlet 20 for connection to the main burners of a gas heater and to outlet 22 for connection to a pilot burner comprises a pushbutton 6 which when actuated firstly closes contacts of an electric switch 3 to provide power for an electric igniter for the pilot burner, secondly opens the valve 27 to connect the outlet 22 to a chamber 19 and thirdly opens the valve 12 to connect the inlet 11 to the chamber 19. A spindle 7 connecting the push-button to valve 27 is shaped to fit a bore 21 to prevent lateral movement therebetween and yet provide a passageway for gas flowing to the outlet 22. The passageway may be in the wall of the bore or a flat on the spindle. Once opened the valve 12 is held by an electric-magnet 5 powered by a thermocouple in the usual way.
