Abstract

137,103. Taylor, E. H. Dec. 30, 1918. Tyre attachments to rims. -Tyres of circular crosssection fitting in a correspondingly-shaped groove in the wheel felloe are held in place by side plates having turned-over portions engaging the tyre, while the felloe is formed in detachable sections so that one section and its side plate may be removed to detach the tyre. The cover 6 of the circular pneumatic tyre is held by side plates 3 in a groove in the felloe 4, which has a detachable portion 4a. Bolts 5, 5<a> secure the side plates and portions of the felloe together. A cushion tyre, or a single-tube pneumatic tyre, of circular section, may be secured similarly by side plates having turned-over edges engaging grooves in the tyre. Projections may be formed on the inner surface of the tyre to fit in corresponding indentations in the rim to prevent creeping.
