Abstract

1369581 Thread cutters MASCHINENFABRIK RIETER AG 11 April 1973 [12 April 1972] 17304/73 Addition to 1257128 Heading B4B [Also in Division F1] A pneumatic actuator, Fig. 1, for a threadcutter, has a pin 10 which engages a groove 5 in a piston-rod 4 to prevent movement of the piston, and consequent operation of the threadcutter, until the pin 10 is withdrawn. As de- scribed the pin 10 is attached to a piston 9 which is moved pneumatically against a spring 11 in response to a signal from sensing means which indicate the necessity for operating the threadcutter. Alternatively, the pin may be with- drawn by a solenoid, Fig. 2 (not shown).
