Abstract

1368889 Screening apparatus TAMPELLA AB OY 24 March 1972 [25 March 1971] 14046/72 Heading B1D Screening apparatus for paper pulp comprises a screening drum 1 rotating about a vertical axis relative to a fixed rejects discharge pipe 4, which has an opening 9 extending the height of the drum and carries a blade 6 and a flange 7 respectively upstream and downstream thereof relative to the rotation, blade 6 creating pulsations to remove reject fibres from the drum and flange 7 directing them into opening 9 for discharge at (5). Blade 6 may be replaced by a brush.As shown a pipe 8 delivers diluting water to the downstream side of the drum. Several arrangements 4...9 may be spaced round a single drum and radially adjustable. The drum may be cylindrical or frusto-conical.
