Abstract
1367298 Inductors SIEMENS AG 22 Oct 1971 [27 Nov 1970] 49152/71 Heading HIT A suppressor choke comprises a core 1 consisting of at least two annular parts 2, 3, axially stacked within a sealed insulating housing 4, 7, one core part being of laminated silicon steel, and the other of ZnNiCo ferrite. The core parts are potted in elastic resin 6 and the housing is provided with laminar projections on the inside surface to centre the core in the housing. A two layer coil 8 is wound over the housing with the second layer in the opposite direction but in the same sense as the first. One core part 2 may consist of rings of hot or cold rolled siliconcontaining sheet iron and is effective in the attenuation of transients in the low frequency range (5 to 15 kHz). The second core part 3 of ferrite ensures an increasing permeability for the core up to a frequency of 10 MHz. The composition of the ferrite may be 47À55 mol. per cent Fe 2 O 3 , 31À6 mol. per cent ZnO, 20À6 mol. per cent NiO and 0À25 mol. per cent CoO. Quartz may be added to the potting resin to increase its heat conductivity.
