Abstract

1365903 Fluid jet looms TEIJIN Ltd 5 Aug 1971 [7 Aug 1970 15 Dec 1970 16 Dec 1970] 36848/71 Heading D1E A fluid jet loom has a fluid, e.g. liquid, nozzle at the exit side of the shed which entrains the weft end and is movable to the fell during beat-up. In Figure 1 after the weft is picked a liquid jet 7, attached to the baulk 4 of the reed, comes forward with the reed and entrains the weft end, a false selvedge 5 being subsequently severed. Embodiments of jets 7 are described in detail. In Figure 6 the entraining jet 19 is movable independantly of, and in advance of the reed. A stop motion, Figure 10, is described wherein the weft 6 tilts an arm 30 to allow operation to continue. Absence of weft allows contacts 35, 36 to remain closed and an amplified signal to stop the loom.
