Elastic bandages are made from a number of elastic strips 1-4, each slightly smaller than-the one preceding, which are secured edge to edge while the edge of the one strip is stretched relative to the adjacent strip. The strips may be sewn together simultaneously, or, as shown in Fig. 4, in succession, the strip 2 being run through a tensioning-device while it is being secured to the strip 1, and the strips 3 &c. being then applied in a similar manner.
