Abstract

1362461 Containers UNIVERSAL BULKHANDLING EQUIPMENT Ltd 27 Feb 1973 [15 April 1972] 17483/72 Heading B8P A tank of aluminium alloy or high tensile steel comprising a main shell 10 and ends 11 has bearers 13 connecting the ends 11 to end frames which carry I.S.O. corner fittings 16, the bearers 13 at opposite ends of the tank being connected by bracing bars 24. These bars may be of angle, channel, or box section and are welded to the shell 10 adjacent reinforcing hoops 25 or to the hoops if they are external to the shell. Each bearer 13 comprises a plate 14 cranked to fit against the shell 10 and end 11 and a radial flange 15 welded thereto. The end frames consist of members 17, 18 and gussets 19, stiffeners 20, 21 are also provided. Pockets 29 may be provided for engagement by a fork lift truck.
