Abstract
1361919 Hydraulic control circuits BBC BROWN BOVERI & CO Ltd 11 Dec 1972 [13 Dec 1971] 57011/72 Heading F1P With a reversing valve 11, Fig. 1, in the position shown, both sides 3, 8 of a piston 2 are connected via passages 7, 9 to an accumulator 4 and the piston moves to the position shown. The valve 11 is moved to the position shown when a chamber 15 is pressurized. This occurs when a valve 18 is opened to move a valve 14 to the position shown. When a valve 21 is opened the chamber 15 is depressurized by connecting it to a reservoir 6 and the spool of valve 14 moves upwards. Piston 13 now moves the valve 11 to the left to close the connection between passages 7 and 9 and to connect the chamber 8 to the reservoir 6. Since the chamber 3 is still under pressure the piston 2 moves to the right. Fig. 2 shows a construction of the piston 11 in which movements are damped by throttling ports 27. A spring-loaded throttling device 28 controls the flow of fluid to the reservoir. Valve seats 22, 23 are resiliently mounted and their movements are damped by oilfilled spaces 32 which are filled through ports 33. Fig. 3 shows a construction of the piston 2 in which shoulders 2c damp movement at the end of the stroke by co-operating with an annular space 37. In the opposite direction damping is effected by an annular space 38, Fig. 4 (not shown).
