Abstract

1361562 Knitting machines UNIVERSAL MASCHINENFABRIK DR RUDOLF SCHIEBER KG 24 Feb 1972 [10 March 1971] 8587/72 Heading D1C Stitch cams on a flat bed knitting machine are adjusted by means of an electric motor which is either a step-by-step motor operated by a counting device or a continuously operated motor controlled by a bridge circuit. One half of a bridge circuit 9 which supplies current to a continuously operating electric motor comprises one of four manually adjustable potentiometers 1, 2, 3, 4 which can be switched into the circuit by one of the switches 5, 6, 7, 8 in the machine control system e.g. automatically selected and actuated. The other half of the circuit comprises a displacement pick up 10 e.g. also a potentiometer, firmly connected to the stitch cam which is displaced by the rotation of the motor 12 which is connected via amplifier 13 corresponding to the deturning of bridge circuit 9 and continuous until the bridge is balanced. The stitch cam 11 is guided in a cam plate 14 and biassed by a spring 15 acting through a stop 16 engaging a nut 17 which travels on an adjustment spindle 18. A bevel gear 22 connected to spindle 18 is driven through bevel gear 21 on the shaft of motor 12.
