Abstract

1360547 Valves A H ANDERSSON & CO AB 15 Feb 1972 [22 Feb 1971] 6969/72 Heading F2V In a gate valve the two parts 21, 23 of the closure member have moulded thereto an elastomeric member 27, e.g. of rubber, which provides the seating surfaces 28 on the part 23. Part 21 is in permanent threaded engagement by ring 20 with the actuating threaded stem 19 while the part 23 has a ring 24 which may be loose on or in valve-open only threaded engagement with the stem 19. Inclined surfaces 25, 26 on the two parts together with the abutment of surface 29 on part 23 with surface 30 of its seat force the two parts away from each other into contact with their seats in valve closed position.
