Abstract

1359892 Thermoplastic films E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 6 July 1971 [7 July 1970 10 June 1971] 31626/71 Heading C3R A thermoplastic film has incorporated therein a finely-divided inert strip additive which consists of at least 50 p.p.m. particles having a particle size greater than 2À5 microns, at least 100 p.p.m. particles having a particle size less than 1À0 micron and up to 26% by weight of the total additive but not more than 800 p.p.m. particles having a particle size of from 1À0 to 2À5 microns, the particle sizes being measured in the maximum dimension. Specified inert slip additives are silica, kaolin, china clay, aluminosilicates, diatomaceous earth, carbon black and calcium phosphates, e.g. calcium pyrophosphate, tribasic calcium phosphate and anhydrous dibasic calcium phosphate. The thermoplastic film may be of nylon 66, nylon 6 or polyethylene terephthalate.
