Abstract
1358907 Transferring containers on to endless conveyers ORGANISATION RALFS KG 26 Oct 1971 [26 Oct 1970] 49705/71 Heading B8A Containers 12, 13..., are fed successsively on to an endless belt 11 from a roller feed conveyer 5 by the action of a rotatable disc 8. The latter has a zone of low friction surface, e.g. of steel which is normally positioned to receive the incoming container 12. The remaining surface is of a high friction material, e.g. polyurethane, to entrain the container. In addition there is an upstanding entraining pin 9. When the container 12 engages a switch 10, the disc 8 is rotated after a given time delay, provided an electrical control element (not shown) upstream of the feed station does not respond to the presence of a container on the belt 11. The speed of the belt 11 may be twice that of the roller conveyer 5. The latter may be disposed at an angle (in horizontal and/or vertical planes) and may feed by gravity.
