Abstract
1358431 Soil stabilisation; barrier walls Y I CHISE 8 Nov 1971 [12 Nov 1970] 51795/71 Headings E1F and E1H A method of high pressure jet-grouting of ground comprises inserting into the ground an injecting tube having a nozzle for directing a high velocity jet of grouting that may include a ground-harding agent and a high velocity jet of compressed air into the ground. Penetration of the grouting is facilitated by the air jet forcing back ground water. Preferably the air is supplied at a pressure in the range 3-7 Kg/cm<SP>2</SP> and the grouting is supplied at a pressure in the range 50-1000 Kg/cm<SP>2</SP>. The nozzle can involve two co-axial discharge openings to permit of the compressed air emerging around the grouting jet. A third co-axial outlet may be provided to permit of discharge of an accelerator for the ground-hardening agent. A water jetting nozzle may be provided in the tip of the tube to facilitate entry of the tube into the ground. Thin horizontal or vertical diaphragm walls can be formed by insertion of the tube at spaced intervals over or in a line along the ground.
